Khmer through other languages
English being the dominant world language at the moment, it’s only natural that many resources for Khmer will be available in it (though given the relative obscurity of Khmer, even this is not a given…) But there’s plenty out there for people who wish (or need) to learn it through other languages. Here’s just a few I’ve come across:
For French speakers:
http://www.srokkhmer.org/
Khmer lessons for beginners, songs, forums, and lots more.
Dhokko’s World
Bilingual French/Khmer blog by someone who’s been learning Khmer for 2 years. Lots of karaoke songs, some with translations.
Pen Nearovi’s A la recherche d’une grammaire khmère is as useful as it ever was
And from manur.org, a short list of Khmer textbooks in French.
For Japanese speakers:
ភាសាខ្មែរ カンボジア語
Excellent site with Khmer lessons (including audio). Lessons for other languages can be found on the main page
rien piesaa khmae
A Japanese Khmer learner’s blog
カンボジア語ミニ講座
Basic survival phrases, some with sound
クメール語教室
More Khmer lessons, password required to open the .pdf files
Express (エクスプレス) which seems to be the Japanese “ Teach Yourself” has a Khmer version
For Russian speakers:
I was under the impression there were some good textbooks, искал искал, ни фига не нашел
A couple of livejournals from Russians who appear to learn/have learned Khmer:
